From 1997 – 2006, the owner of Chatham Bars Inn embarked on a major refurbishing program to rebuild and restore the historic hotel and more than twenty buildings on the oceanside property. Many of the guest buildings and former dormitory buildings dating from the 1920’s were demolished making way for luxury guest buildings while maintaining similar square footage, volumes and architectural styles that identify the seaside style of this luxurious hotel. Other building renovation projects included the Monomoy Conference Center, the Beach House Grill, the pool bathhouse, renovation to the Inn’s kitchen, a chef’s kitchen, wine cellar and a new entrance way to the 1913 hotel building |
