The owners of the original house on this coastal site loved the character of the summer cottage style. The gambrel style house, though, had serious structural problems and it was more cost effective to start anew. We reproduced many of its original architectural features and expanded on them. We maintained the visual access to the expanse of ocean, the scale, the style of dormer windows, the open porches so reminiscent of the early 20th century. The feel of the home remains intact, but the house now has amenities that were absent originally. |
